STEPPING UP

This Past Month

One young father, one fire burning within, one life changed forever!

A young father who has been coming out to floor hockey had a dramatic mind shift; a radical change spiritually in the way he thinks about life and God.  After coming to know the Lord he had a desire to help as a volunteer with Stepping Up.  His desire is to give back to the other struggling dads, by sharing his faith and helping them to realize there is a God who cares for them and their own circumstances.

He wants to do some sort of devotions, separate of our floor hockey night. He wants to lead these devotions with me sharing the word of God to these young fathers. He has expressed a desire to see these young fathers changed through the power of God . He is keen to open his life up to the other young dads, sharing his challenges and triumphs so the other young dads won’t make the same mistakes, and to help them gain insight into how to do things right, the way Christ would want them to live! Really great stuff!

This young dad is so on fire, he has asked that we go once a week out into the community and talk to young parents on the streets.  He believes God’s power is with him and he is convinced that God has all the answers for those who are struggling in our community.

Please continue to Pray for this young father, and our new dynamic devotions night! May God receive all the glory!

Our Need

We are in need of new monthly donors, would you consider being a partner.  We are in need of 10 more monthly partners at $100 dollars or 20 more partners at $50 dollars a month.  Would you consider giving financially on a monthly basis, partnering with us in this ministry to young fathers?  We know things are tight in these economic hard times, but for those who can afford to give we would greatfully value your support.
My prayer is that you would think of this ministry as a missionary outreach in our community. It actually sometimes feels like we are in some far off land, ministering to the indiginous people of a place called Surrey and bringing the gospel of Christ Jesus to people for whom the message is foreign. Please prayerfully consider being a financial missionary supporter for Shaina and I. Thank you for your consideration and may you and your family be blessed as you give.

Dave and Shaina’s Update
Shaina and I were very busy last month packing up the daycare downstairs. Thank you for your prayers.  We were able to sublet our basement suite; this will help us greatly in the months ahead taking the stress off our monthly expenses! We really felt the prayers, thank you!  We feel all is not lost in regards to the daycare dream, we have learned a few things with this endeavour and will be that much more informed when we find a different space to open the doors to the daycare.

Liam is so cute; one night last month the Lord spoke to me through him.  Liam sat in his highchair with his eyes wide open as he sang the song “row, row, row your boat” waiting for his food one evening at supper! As I watched him singing in his chair that evening I couldn’t help but hear Christ whispering into my spirit “David you must come to me as a child, its child like faith that gains you entrance into my kingdom”! It’s amazing how God speaks to us through our children!

Joah has been playing spring hockey and has scored a goal each game of the opening season.  He is turning into a really good hockey player with a real desire to play and play well.  I’m so proud of him, he is a special little boy and has such an amazing call on his life to serve the Lord.

Trust in Him

“Trust my way and know I’m God” Even though you are scared and your situation seems in a fog. I ask you to know in faith that My leading is always safe! You must trust, you must trust, and give it to me. I, your God will let you see!

I know it’s hard to understand how I care. When you are in uncharted land in despair. But trust you must, keeping Me close to your side, as a blind man walks with a stick as his guide.

The blind man knows his staff will not fail and neither will I says the Lord, with me you will prevail, you shall overcome and slay your enemies one by one and never ever be undone!

Trust in me fully is what I desire, never question me ever, I will never leave you I Am no liar. Hear the whisper of the Holy Spirit, Trust Him, Trust Him do not depart!
